The idea of the Diamonds Puff Sweater came when I was making the Diamonds Puff Beanie.
Actually the idea of a sweater with this diamonds puff stitch was the first project that I had in mind, but I tested it first on a beanie to see exactly the stitch count and how it works.

About the Design
This Diamonds Puff Sweater is worked top down with the Raglan technique.
Starting from the neck, we will work in rounds the yoke and then split the body of the sweater from the sleeves and working these 3 parts individually.
The pattern is wrote in US (continental) terms and is available for sizes S, M and L.
The Diamonds Puff Sweater has a closer fit, only 2 cm positive ease, without stretching the work.
Final measurements of the bust are:
S – 88 cm (35 “)
M – 98 cm (39″)
L – 108 cm (43”)
Materials
I used Worsted weight 8 ply acrylic yarn in colors light grey, mint and turquoise. The type of yarn is very common and I am sure you will find a color combo that you will like.
The brand I used is Tivoli by Hobbii.
Check hobbii.com and you will find a lot of goodies there.
but you can use any yarn in this category in any colors you want.
For each size you will need:
S – 4 skeins (50 grams, 175 m, 191 yds each) of main color (Grey),1 skein of turquoise, 1 skein of mint, approximate 285 grams / 900 m /980 yds in total
M – 5 skeins of Grey, 1 skein of turquoise, 2 skeins of Mint, approximate 310 grams / 970 m / 1060 yds
L – 5 skeins of Grey, 1 skein of turquoise, 2 skeins of Mint, approximate 330 grams / 1040 m / 1140 yds.
The recommended hook size for the yarn I used is 4 mm – 4.5 mm ( G – 7 US Size) but I used a 5 mm ( H US size).
About the puff stitch
The Diamonds Puff Sweater is worked in Puff Stitch.
The puff stitch is a stitch in the cluster stitches category. Meaning that we will do a group of stitches to obtain the puff look.
[Yarn over, insert the hook trough the stitch, yarn over pull out a loop] repeat 2 times. If you want you can repeat 3 times if you are working with a thinner yarn. Then yarn over and pull the yarn trough all loops on your hook.
The stitch chart for the sweater is in the image bellow. In this chart is only a part of the yoke with the first set of diamonds.
Gauge
7 Puff Stitches = 10 cm ( 4 “)
8 Rounds = 10 cm (4”)

Hello! The Diamonds Puff Sweater CAL Started last week. First post was an intro. This week I will post the first part of the sweater, the yoke. There are 3 weeks left, each with a part of the sweater. In this way we can work together and share our WIP’s and giving support to each other.
