These Sailor Wheel Earrings are so easy to make and perfect project if you want to make a beautiful gift for someone you love or even for yourself.

Usually when I’m feeling sucked with one big project, I just make small thinks, because they are working fast and give me immediately a bust to continue.

Also, I’m finding making smaller things relaxing because you don’t need to think that much.

About Design

So, these earrings are pretty simple. Only 5 rounds and they are done.

If you are thinking on how to block/fix them, don’t worry I will share my method later in the pattern.

 Materials You will need:

  • Yarn

Thread , Lace size 0

I used Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush. The recommended needle to work with is 1.25 – 1.5 mm. You can also use Scheepjes Maxi Sweet treat, which is the same beautiful thread only that in smaller balls (25 grams)

  • Crochet Hook

1.5 mm ( size E) crochet hook

  • 2 earrings hangers
  • 2 beads
  • Mod Podge for fixing or other water base deco glue

Final measurements

These earrings have 3 cm in diameter. You can make them bigger by using a different type of yarn.

And I think we are done with all details and we can start.

Pattern notes

*Ch 3 at the beginning of the row, counts as first dc.

*ch 1 at the beginning of the round doesn’t count as a first sc

Start with ch 4 and sl st to make a circle

Round 1: ch 1, 10 sc inside the circle, sl st with 1st sc.

Round 2: ch 5 (ch 3 counts as a first dc and 2 more ch sts as a separating chain), 1 dc in next, ch 2, 1 dc in next. Continue to the end of the round. Finish the round with ch 2 and sl st with 3rd st of the starting chain.

Cut the yarn.

Next step is to attach the bead. We will use the end to make that. Insert the thread end trough the bead hole and then make a few knots to make sure the bead won’t fall. Cut the extra end and done, we are ready for fixing step.

To block or fix the earrings we will use Mod Podge or other water base deco glue.

In a small container put 1 part glue and 1 part water and dip in the earring. Let it for a few seconds, and then pull it out to dry on a towel. Let it over night or until is completely dry.

Repeat the procedure if needed. You can increase the amount of glue if you want the earrings to be harder but put also some water to avoid white glue spots on them.

After the earrings are dried insert the hanger, just open a bit the bottom loop and insert it through the top stitches, then close the loop and done.

You have some beautiful earrings to wear them this summer.
